Donky Bike, the ultimate utility bicycle is now on display at the London Design Museum in the Super Contemporary Show.
The brief to Twobelowzero was to design and build a simple website that can be expanded upon once the bike is in production. There is a Content Management System (CMS) and database in place so as soon as the bike’s ready to be officially offered for sale we can expand very quickly. This solution was designed and built with just 48hrs notice prior to the Press Launch of the Super Contemporary Show.
The site uses JQuery (Javascript) to capture users data and fade and rotate images of the bike that are taken from the ‘Stop-Frame’ animation that was produced by Colin J C Johnston. To boost the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) we opted to host the video of Donky Bike on YouTube allowing the product to be easily found and seen globally. On the site the video is shown on the site by using JQuery ‘light box’ integration.
Donky Bike is designed by Ben Wilson. It’s a simple concept, ‘tough steel frame equipped with simple low-maintenance components which can be repaired anywhere in the world’. Designed to be ridden easily and safely with whatever you need to take with you. The cargo load is carried on the frame, not the handlebars, so the steering and handling remain light and balanced.
See what you think of this simple yet clever bicycle.
