To design and build two websites and a Content Management System (CMS) that could be used for multiple websites, based around one common flexible platform.
Solution »»
The new PonyMag and Horse & Rider web sites are now live after a 12 month development project working with Signature Publishing Ltd.
As part of the development for the bespoke content management system we also designed and built both the PonyMag.com and Horseandrideruk.com sites.
The CMS can drive an unlimited amount of sites and has been designed and built around a flexible code framework by our coding partners Gravitywell. As each site is added the administration team can choose which features to turn on or off for the site. For example the forum module that is turned on the Horse&Rider site is switched off on the Pony site as they don’t have a full time moderator available to ensure the posts are appropriate for the sites audience and that the brand values are not compromised by spam postings.
Key features like editorial, image management and advertising and campaign sponsorship are all controlled via the CMS. Reporting is available in real time for all campaigns and sponsorship across the site.
The website design of the Ponymag site is aimed at a younger equestrian audience and compliments Pony, which is the UK’s No.1 Horsey Teen monthly magazine.
The site includes:
- Bespoke Content Management System (CMS)
- Secure administration user access
- Comprehensive editorial system
- Image manager
- Advertising and sponsorship campaign manager
- Integrated advertising reporting
- Classifieds section, republished from the Horse&Rider site, but styled to Pony
- Business directory, republished from the Horse&Rider site, but styled to Pony
- Flickr photo streams into a Flash gallery
- PHP & XHTML & CSS
- MySQL Database and dedicated server
- jQuery JavaScript
- Magento E-Commerce shop
- Sagepay (Protx) payment gateway integration
